What do you charge per reel? Pricing would either be quoted as an hourly rate, or a flat rate depending on client’s needs. We can discuss fees when we know more about your vision during our free consultation. Our goal is to provide you with a final product that will make your content engaging from beginning to end. Reels will start at $149.00. Production rates depend on complexity and length of video.
What is the turnaround time for reels? Usually two weeks but that cannot be guaranteed. Turnaround depends on the number of clips, or if I have to search and download clips off the internet. It can be done in 3 days to 3-4 weeks and you will be kept in the loop throughout the process.
What methods of payment do you prefer or accept? Payment may be made by cash, Paypal, and all major credit cards and you will receive an itemized invoice and receipt for your records. Should you decide to hire me as your editor the total amount is due the day of agreement.
What separates WALL2WALL from other editors? We treat editing as an art form. We enhance even the finest detail to increase the production value of any clip you provide us. We provide color and sound correction/enhancement to any scene hampered by poor or flat lighting, unwanted audio that may be drowning out dialogue - see before/after examples in OTHER WORKS. We will add/create a customized dynamic intro and/or outro as shown in nearly all the reels. We can modify any scenes with shaky camera work that may otherwise make your scene unusable. One payment option also includes ripping and transcoding any number of DVDs to an editable format, as well as pulling clips off of the internet for TV episodes you performed in but are unable to get a copy. We can find lost clips from TV shows and/or films you were not able to receive footage from- (so long as they exist anywhere on the internet). Finally, this is the only package that offers (not guaranteed) free promotion on my website where clients have been not only discovered but also signed with agents and or booked directly.
Couldn't I just do my own reel? "There is a lot more to producing a quality professional reel than just ‘cutting and pasting’ clips together’. Timing, placement, and structure are all key elements in creating a professional reel. While there is consumer-based software that is readily available, some technical knowledge of file formats is required, as well as experience with executing proper placement and pacing of your clips. If you understand the formatting, it is possible to get a reel that is blurry, or has sound problems. Since you only get one chance to make a great impression on agents, casting directors, and managers, it is best not to ‘cut corners’ on a reel... Having it done right the first time, is a much more cost-effective way to put your hard-earned money to better use." - Kristina LaTour
Do you film reels from scratch? Yes! We work with a number of affiliate cinematographers (NOT videographers - big difference) and a small crew that will make your reel stand out. Pricing all depends on number of scenes, locations, and whether you need writing services.
How will I be receiving the final product? Upon completion of your reel, you will have several options as to how you would like to receive your reel:
1. WeTransfer.com is the best website that allows up to 2gigs worth of files to send over the internet without blowing up your email. Simply click on the link that will be in the WeTransfer email, and you can download all reel files right to your computer. 2. ThumbDrive - all file formats of your reel will be dragged on to a thumb drive supplied by you. 3. Vimeo and/or YouTube - This is a great option to quickly send out a streaming link to industry professionals. 4. One or two DVDs - one will be a fully functional DVD (rarely needed in this day and age), and the other will act more or less like a flash drive that will house your reel in several data file formats (.mov, .wma, .flv, .avi, m4v's and more). The other DVD will contain all the files of your reel compressed to your hardware/software specifications so you can easily drag and drop any of the files onto your computer's hard drive from the DVD and quickly upload the file(s) to any site.
